Unit of Measure
Universal Product Code--a unique 12-digit number assigned to retail merchandise that identifies both the product and the vendor that sells the product. The UPC on a product typically appears adjacent to its bar code, the machine-readable representation of the UPC.
Uniform Resource Locator—the global address of documents and other resources on the World Wide Web.
The process of authenticating a user of the Portal application (i.e., of checking that users are who they present themselves to be). User authentication is most generally by means of a username and password (which authenticates the username).
A record of user-specific data that describe the user in the application (e.g., username, role, contact information).
The name that is employed by a Portal user to identify themselves when logging onto the application. Both a username (user ID) and a password are required. In the Safety Reporting system, the username corresponds with the email address provided by the user when they first registered for an account.
